Brakecheck Overview

The Bowmonk BrakeCheck Plus is a DVSA-approved portable brake decelerometer designed to measure brake efficiency by recording vehicle deceleration during braking.

This Plus model is specifically designed for operators who need to store multiple brake test results, making it ideal for HGV 6-weekly and 12-weekly inspections, fleet compliance, and DVSA roadside checks.

Unlike basic brake testers that only store a single test result, the BrakeCheck Plus stores up to 99 service brake tests and 99 handbrake tests, allowing operators to test multiple vehicles and retain results without needing to download or overwrite data after each test.

Key Features & Functionality

Operation: Measures Service and Hand Brake efficiency by recording deceleration from approximately 20 mph.
Diagnostics: Identifies braking imbalance (pulling left or right).
Usability: Self-contained and user-friendly. It features a self-compensating level indicator to ensure correct positioning.
Data: Results can be viewed on the LED screen, printed via a portable infra-red printer, or downloaded to a PC.
Memory: Has an independent 99 test memory for both the service and hand brake tests, meaning a total of 198 tests can be stored on the device.
Power: Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with an auto power-down feature to save energy.
