Brakecheck Overview

The Bowmonk BrakeCheck Quarry is a portable brake tester designed specifically for quarry, plant, and off-road vehicles, including mobile cranes.

This is a fully self-contained, user-friendly, portable brake tester, suitable for quarries, coal sites, concrete plants, brickyards, recycling plants and HGV workshops. The instrument records the braking efficiency in a matter of minutes and can optionally record the percentage of braking imbalance.

This decelerometer is well suited to mobile crane brake testing in accordance with the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) Technical Information Note 104. TIN 104 recognises that roller brake testing is often impractical for mobile cranes. BrakeCheck4Quarries provides a practical alternative by allowing:

Service brake testing via deceleration measurement
Parking brake testing via incline hold test

Key Features & Functionality

Operation: Measures Service Brake and Hand Brake efficiency by recording deceleration from approximately 12 mph.
Diagnostics: Identifies braking imbalance (pulling left or right).
Usability: Self-contained and user-friendly. It features a self-compensating level indicator to ensure correct positioning.
Data: Results can be viewed on the LED screen, printed via a portable infra-red printer, or downloaded to a PC.
Memory: Has an independent 99 test memory for both the service brake test and hand brake incline test.
Power: Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with an auto power-down feature to save energy.
