The BrakeCheck Secondary is designed to carry out the service brake, hand brake and secondary brake test.
Now included as standard: secondary brake testing is built into the BrakeCheck Standard, which also stores up to 99 test results.

From 1 June 2026, secondary brake testing is built into our signature BrakeCheck Standard, which now also stores up to 99 test results. The Standard now covers everything the Secondary does and more.
The Bowmonk BrakeCheck Secondary is a purpose-built, portable brake tester designed to measure brake performance on HGVs, PSVs, buses and large commercial vehicles.
This model provides dedicated Secondary Brake testing, while also measuring Service Brake and Handbrake performance.
Each brake type stores one test result, making this unit suited to individual vehicle testing rather than multi-vehicle fleet inspections. Secondary brake systems are a separate legal requirement on many heavy vehicles and must be measured independently as part of a preventative maintenance programme.
Secondary brake testing is now included as standard on the BrakeCheck Standard, which also stores up to 99 test results, so most operators can now get secondary testing and high-capacity memory in a single tester.
